Two main branches. Aerospace engineering splits into aeronautical engineering (designing airplanes) and astronautical engineering (designing spacecraft). They overlap because both need to work in the sky and beyond.
Building the impossible. Aerospace engineers figure out how to make planes lighter, faster, and safer, and how to shoot rockets into orbit. They solve puzzles like keeping people alive in zero gravity and protecting spacecraft from extreme heat.
Electronics matter too. Avionics engineers handle all the electronic systems inside planes and spacecraft, like navigation computers, communication tools, and autopilot systems that keep flights on track.
Many specialties combined. Aerospace engineers need to know physics, math, materials science, and mechanics. They work with teams to design every part from the engine to the windows.
