Huge and Far. Alaska is so enormous that it's almost twice the size of Texas, making it the largest state in the United States.

Not Connected. Alaska doesn't touch the rest of the United States because Canada sits between them, which makes it a non-contiguous state like Hawaii.

Super Close to Asia. Alaska is closer to Asia than to any other U.S. state, and on clear days you can actually see Russia's coast across the Bering Strait.

Surrounded by Oceans. Alaska has the Arctic Ocean to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south, giving it an incredible coastline full of adventure.

Neighbors Canada. Alaska shares a long border with two Canadian regions called Yukon and British Columbia to the east.
