Albertaceratops

Built like a rhino. Albertaceratops was a centrosaurine dinosaur, which means it belonged to a group of horned dinosaurs that looked similar to today's rhinoceroses, except much bigger and with an impressive neck shield.

Shield on its neck. This dinosaur had a distinctive bony frill extending from its neck, which it probably used to attract mates or scare away rivals, kind of like a peacock's feathers.

Canadian dino explorer. Albertaceratops lived in Alberta, Canada during the Cretaceous Period, about 75 million years ago, in an area called the Oldman Formation.

Middle Campanian resident. Scientists know Albertaceratops lived during the middle part of the Campanian age, which was a specific time slice in the Late Cretaceous when dinosaurs still ruled Earth.
