Movie Magic. Animatronics are puppets controlled by electronics that make characters move smoothly and naturally. They've been used in famous movies to create realistic creatures and characters that cameras can film directly.

Theme Park Stars. When you visit theme parks, many of the characters and creatures you see up close are animatronics. They can walk around, talk, blink, and move their arms to interact with visitors in ways that feel alive.

Modern Automatons. Animatronics are the high-tech cousins of old mechanical automatons, which were wind-up machines that performed repeating actions. Today's animatronics use computers and electronics to make far more complex and flexible movements.

Hidden Operators. Some animatronics are controlled by people operating them from nearby using remote controls or computers, while others run on pre-programmed sequences that repeat the same movements.

Blending Reality. Filmmakers love animatronics because they can film them alongside real actors without needing special effects added later, making the scenes feel genuine and tactile.
