Honors All Soldiers. Anzac Day remembers not just those who died, but everyone who served in wars and peacekeeping missions from both Australia and New Zealand.

April 25th Each Year. The day is observed on the same date every year, marking the anniversary of when Australian and New Zealand soldiers first landed at Gallipoli in 1915.

Started at Gallipoli. The very first Anzac soldiers fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War One, which is why this became such an important day for both countries.

Dawn Service Tradition. Australians and New Zealanders often gather before sunrise on Anzac Day to hold special ceremonies and remember those who served.

Wearing the Poppy. People often wear red poppy flowers or badges on Anzac Day as a symbol of remembrance and respect for fallen soldiers.
