God of Light. Apollo represented the sun itself and was often shown riding across the sky in a golden chariot pulled by four horses. His light brought warmth, healing, and protection to ancient Greeks.

Master Archer. Apollo was incredibly skilled with the bow and arrow, so skilled that he was one of the most feared gods in battle. His arrows could strike from the sky with perfect accuracy.

Music and Poetry. Apollo invented the lyre, a stringed instrument, and was the god of music and beautiful words. Ancient Greeks believed he inspired poets and musicians to create their greatest works.

Future Teller. Apollo had the power of prophecy and could see what would happen in the future. People traveled to his temple at Delphi to ask him questions about their lives.

Most Beautiful God. Apollo was considered the most handsome of all the gods and represented the perfect human form. Artists loved to paint and sculpt him because of his ideal beauty.
