Curious about everything. Aristotle studied so many different subjects that he basically invented the idea of being a scientist. He wrote about animals, plants, logic, politics, poetry, and even how humans think and feel.

Walking while thinking. Aristotle taught his students while walking around his school in Athens called the Lyceum. This style of teaching was so famous that his whole group of followers became known as the Peripatetic school, which comes from a Greek word meaning to walk.

Learning by observing. Instead of just accepting old ideas, Aristotle looked at the natural world himself. He watched animals, studied plants, and believed that understanding the world came from careful observation, which is the foundation of modern science.

Writings that shaped history. Aristotle's ideas were so important that they influenced thinking for over 2,000 years. His way of organizing knowledge and his logical methods helped create the framework for how we do science and philosophy today.
