Massive hunting squads. Army ants hunt in enormous groups called raids, where thousands of ants work together to catch prey much bigger than themselves, like spiders and insects.

Aggressive foragers. Unlike most ants that stay near their nest, army ants are always on the move, actively hunting and attacking everything in their path with fierce determination.

Over 200 species. The name 'army ant' is used for more than 200 different ant species found around the world, though they're most common in tropical rainforests.

Non-stop warriors. Army ants don't build permanent nests like other ants do, instead spending their whole lives marching, hunting, and resting in temporary camps called bivouacs.

Strength in numbers. By working together as one massive group, army ants can overwhelm and carry away prey that a single ant could never defeat alone.
