Massive ocean giant. The Atlantic goliath grouper is one of the largest bony fish in the world, growing to an enormous size. These heavyweight fish can be found in warm saltwater across the Atlantic Ocean.

Wide ocean range. Atlantic goliath groupers live in different parts of the Atlantic, from the western side near Florida and Brazil to the eastern side near West Africa. They're found throughout the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea too.

Deep diving swimmers. These groupers can swim at various depths, anywhere from just below the surface down to 100 meters deep. They're comfortable hunting and living at different ocean levels.

Heavy hitters. The Atlantic goliath grouper was once so common and popular for fishing that people overfished them. Now they're protected by laws to help the population recover.
