Atlas Beetle

Massive and mighty. The Atlas beetle is one of the largest beetles in the world, with some growing up to 3 inches long. These beetles are so strong they can lift objects many times their own weight.

Three-horned males. Male Atlas beetles have three prominent horns on their heads that they use to fight other males for territory and mates. Female Atlas beetles don't have these impressive horns.

Southeast Asian dweller. These incredible beetles live in the rainforests and tropical areas of Southeast Asia, where they crawl through trees and vegetation.

Named after mythology. The beetle gets its name from Atlas, a giant in ancient Greek myths who was famous for holding up the sky on his shoulders. The name suits this powerful little bug perfectly.

Night time fliers. Atlas beetles are most active at night, when they fly through the forest searching for food like tree sap and fruit.
