Unique oval ball. The ball is shaped like a rugby ball, smaller and rounder than American footballs. Players can kick it, punch it, or catch it in the air.

Giant oval field. Games are played on huge oval fields, often around 160 meters long. The field has goal posts at each end that look like giant H-frames or tuning forks.

Scoring the points. Kicking the ball between the two tall central posts scores 6 points, while kicking between a central and outer post scores only 1 point. You have to be a great kicker to score big points.

Incredibly fast-paced. The game is non-stop action with almost no time-outs, and players need amazing endurance to run back and forth across that huge field all match long.

Born in Australia. This sport was invented in Melbourne, Australia during the 1850s and is still the most popular sport there today.
