Peak celebration time. Awards season is a special time each year when movies, TV shows, and music get recognized for excellence. The whole season happens between November and February in the United States, with tons of ceremonies honoring amazing work.

Voting starts early. The process actually begins in October when voting ballots get sent out to industry professionals. These voters decide who should be nominated and eventually win each award.

The Oscars crown it all. The Academy Awards, also called the Oscars, happen in late February or early March and are considered the biggest and most important award ceremony of the whole season. Winning an Oscar is one of the highest honors in entertainment.

Music joins the party. The Grammy Awards also take place during awards season, celebrating the best musicians and songs of the year. This means movies, TV, and music all get celebrated during this exciting time.

Season gets started. Smaller awards like the Governors Awards and the Gotham Awards usually kick off the season in November. These early ceremonies set the tone for all the celebrations that follow.
