Black Swan

Jet-black plumage. Black swans are completely black from head to tail, except for their striking bright red bill and white wing feathers that you only see when they fly. They're one of the few all-black swans in the world.

Australian nomads. Black swans live mainly in southeast and southwest Australia, but they don't stay in one place. They travel around based on weather and water conditions, moving whenever they need to find better lakes and wetlands.

Devoted partners. Black swans are monogamous, meaning they pick one partner and stay together. Both the male and female take turns sitting on the eggs and raising their fluffy gray babies called cygnets.

Expert swimmers. These large waterbirds are powerful swimmers and divers, perfectly built for life on lakes and rivers. Their webbed feet and streamlined bodies make them graceful in the water.
