Bolas Spider

Fishing with silk. Instead of building a web, bolas spiders swing a sticky blob on the end of a silk line to catch flying moths, just like a fisherman casting a line.

Smelly trap. The spider produces fake scents that smell like female moths, tricking male moths into flying right toward the spider's waiting bolas.

Orb-weaver family. Bolas spiders are related to the spiders that make circular webs, but they evolved to hunt in a completely different way.

Quick reflexes. When the spider feels a moth touch its bolas, it snaps its leg back lightning-fast to reel in the catch.
