The Andes divide it. A huge chain of mountains called the Eastern Andes runs from north to south through Bolivia, splitting the country into totally different zones on each side.
The Altiplano plateau. To the west of the Andes sits the Altiplano, a highland plateau so high and flat that it has its own special landscape with amazing views and unique weather.
Lake Titicaca lives here. Bolivia shares the world's highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca, which sits on the Altiplano and is so big you can sail boats on it.
Salt flats stretch forever. The Altiplano also has a series of vast salt flats, which are huge flat areas covered in salt that sparkle in the sun.
Rainforests to the east. East of the Andes are lowland plains filled with the Amazon rainforest and the Paraná basin, where it's hot, wet, and packed with wildlife.
