Cool Facts
Ocean Floor Crawlers. Brittle stars live on the sea floor and use their five long, flexible arms to move around like they're walking on the bottom of the ocean.
Super Stretchy Arms. Each arm can grow up to 60 centimeters long (that's about as tall as a small dog), and they move like whips to help the brittle star get around.
Spiky Cousins. Brittle stars are echinoderms, which means they're related to starfish and sea urchins, though they look quite different and move much faster.
