Cool Facts
Made from copper and tin. Bronze is created by mixing copper with about 12 to 12.5% tin and sometimes other metals too. This special blend makes bronze much harder and stronger than copper by itself.
Stronger than pure copper. When you combine copper with tin, you get a metal that's tougher and more durable. Bronze can also be shaped better and is easier to work with than plain copper.
Ancient people loved it. Bronze was so useful that an entire period of human history is called the Bronze Age. People used it to make tools, weapons, and artwork that lasted for thousands of years.
Perfect for sculpting. Bronze is great for creating detailed statues and artwork because it can be poured into molds and holds fine details beautifully. Many famous sculptures you see in museums are made of bronze.
Still used today. Even though we have newer metals now, bronze is still valuable for making musical instruments, coins, and decorative items. Engineers choose it for things that need to resist corrosion and wear.
