The Bronze Age

Bronze is stronger. Bronze is made by mixing copper with tin or other metals. This discovery gave people a much harder, more durable metal than pure copper, which made better tools, weapons, and decorations.

It started at different times. The Bronze Age didn't begin everywhere at once. Different parts of the world, like Asia, the Near East, and Europe, entered this era at different times, mostly by around 3,000 BC.

The middle age of history. Archaeologists call it the Bronze Age because it's the middle period between the Stone Age and the Iron Age. People had stopped using just stone, but hadn't yet discovered how to work with iron.

Trading spread the technology. Some ancient civilizations made bronze themselves by smelting copper and tin, while others traded for bronze from places that already knew how to make it. This sparked trade routes across the ancient world.

A game changing moment. The Bronze Age was transformative because bronze tools were sharper, lasted longer, and worked better than stone tools. This helped civilizations build bigger structures, grow more food, and develop stronger societies.
