Bubble Nebula

A cosmic bubble. The Bubble Nebula is a giant cloud of glowing gas shaped like a bubble in the constellation Cassiopeia. It's also known as NGC 7635, and it's one of the most spectacular nebulae you can see through a telescope.

Made by stellar wind. The bubble is created by an incredibly powerful star at its center that constantly blows hot gas outward, like the world's mightiest hair dryer. This massive star is about 44 times heavier than our Sun.

Glowing from excitement. The hot star's energy causes the surrounding giant cloud of gas and dust to glow with a beautiful light, making the whole bubble shine brightly in space.

Found by Herschel. An astronomer named William Herschel discovered the Bubble Nebula way back in November 1787, long before we had space telescopes.
