Many names for cattle. A grown female is a cow, a grown male is a bull, and a young one of any kind is a calf. Males that have been changed so they can't have babies are called steers or oxen, and young females are called heifers.

Found almost everywhere. Cattle live on farms all across the world and are one of the most common large animals that humans care for. They're part of a family called bovines, which also includes buffalo and bison.

Built like athletes. Cattle are ungulates, which means they have hooves instead of feet. They're big, strong animals with muscular bodies built for grazing and walking long distances.

Useful for many things. People raise cattle mainly for meat and milk, but also for leather, bones, and even their manure, which helps fertilize fields.
