The Caucasus Mountains

Massive peak. Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, rises 5,642 metres into the sky. That's almost 20,000 feet tall, making it taller than any other mountain on the continent.

Between two seas. The Caucasus Mountains stretch across the land between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. This puts them right at the border where Europe meets Asia.

A whole region. The mountains are surrounded by the Caucasus region, which includes several countries and has its own unique cultures, languages, and histories. This area is one of the most diverse places on Earth.

Snow and ice. Because the mountains are so tall and stretch so far, they have snowy peaks, glaciers, and valleys that create different climates all over the range.
