Cepheus the King Constellation

A royal name. Cepheus is named after a king from ancient Greek stories who ruled a place called Aethiopia. He's part of a whole family of mythological characters placed in the sky as constellations.

Super old pattern. Cepheus was one of the 48 constellations that the famous astronomer Ptolemy listed way back in the second century. We still use it today as one of the 88 official constellations.

Lives up north. You'll find Cepheus way up in the deep northern sky, which means it's best to look for it from places far north on Earth. It's one of the circumpolar constellations that people in northern regions can see year-round.

Part of a family. Cepheus belongs to a group of related constellations from Greek mythology that all tell a connected story about royalty and adventure in the ancient world.
