Chinstrap Penguin

Looks like a helmet. Chinstrap penguins have a narrow black band running under their chin that makes them look like they're wearing a black motorcycle helmet or football helmet.

Extremely loud calls. These penguins are known for making harsh, loud, scratchy sounds that can be heard from far away, which is why they're sometimes called stonecracker penguins.

Lives in the south. Chinstrap penguins live on islands and shores in the Southern Pacific and Antarctic Oceans, in some of the coldest places on Earth.

Many other names. People also call them ringed penguins or bearded penguins because of the distinctive markings around their head.

Antarctic explorer. These penguins are perfectly adapted to live in freezing ocean water and icy Antarctic environments where few other animals can survive.
