Over 250 species. Bumblebees aren't just one kind of bee, there are more than 250 different species scattered across the world, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere but also in South America and places like New Zealand.

Found everywhere. You can find bumblebees on almost every continent except Australia, though some European types were brought to New Zealand and Tasmania by humans.

Sting multiple times. Unlike honeybees that die after stinging once, female bumblebees can sting as many times as they want because their stingers are smooth and don't get stuck.

Super chill insects. Even though they can sting repeatedly, bumblebees are pretty relaxed around humans and animals and won't bother you unless they're protecting their nest.
