Black-footed Cat

Africa's smallest wildcat. The black-footed cat is tinier than most house cats, measuring only 14 to 20 inches from head to body. Despite the name, only the black or dark brown soles of its feet are dark, not the whole foot.

Master of camouflage. Its tawny fur is covered with bold spots and stripes that help it hide incredibly well, especially when hunting on moonlit nights. The pattern works like nature's invisibility cloak.

Distinctive face markings. Black streaks run from the corners of its eyes down along its cheeks, giving it a striking expression. Its banded tail ends with a black tip that stands out against its body.
