250 Paintings. Claude Monet created roughly 250 oil paintings of water lilies, all from his flower garden in Giverny, France. This wasn't a quick project, but the main thing he focused on for the last three decades of his life.

His Garden Pond. The water lilies Monet painted came from the pond right at his home in Giverny. He loved this peaceful spot so much that he returned to paint it again and again, watching how light and water changed throughout the day and seasons.

Painting Through Illness. When Monet was older, he developed cataracts, which made his eyesight fuzzy and changed how colors looked to him. Even with this challenge, he kept painting these water lily scenes, creating some of his most beloved works.
