Ancient invention. Chopsticks have been used for eating in China and other East Asian countries for more than 3,000 years, making them one of the oldest eating tools in the world.
Hand extension. When you use chopsticks, you hold them in your dominant hand (the hand you write with) and control them with your fingers like they are extensions of your own hand.
Equal length pair. Chopsticks always come in matching pairs of equal length, and you use both sticks together as a team to pick up food.
Picking up food. Chopsticks work by letting you grip small pieces of food between the two sticks, which is perfect for eating noodles, rice, vegetables, and other foods popular in East Asian cuisine.
Widespread across Asia. Most countries in the Sinosphere, which includes China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other East Asian regions, use chopsticks as their main eating utensils.
