Super tall tower. The Chrysler Building rises 1,046 feet high in the heart of Manhattan. When it was finished in 1930, it was the tallest building in the entire world for 11 months before another building took the crown.

Shiny Art Deco design. The building is covered in a beautiful style called Art Deco, with gleaming stainless steel on its outside that catches the light and makes it sparkle. This fancy design makes it one of the most recognizable buildings in New York City.

Steel and brick combo. Even though it looks like it's made of metal, the Chrysler Building is actually the tallest steel-framed brick building in the whole world. Steel gives it strength, while the brick makes up most of what you see.

Perfect city location. You'll find it at the corner of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue in the East Midtown part of Manhattan. This spot right in the middle of the city makes it a famous landmark that millions of people pass by every year.
