Ancient Greek origins. The story of Cinderella is super old. The earliest known version is about a girl named Rhodopis who was a Greek slave in Egypt and married the king, all the way back around 7 BC.

Thousands of versions. Cinderella stories have been told for thousands of years all around the world. Different countries have their own unique Cinderella tales with their own twists and magic.

Poor to princess. The heart of the Cinderella story is a girl living in tough circumstances who suddenly gets blessed with amazing fortune, usually through magic or a magical helper.

Marriage changes everything. In most Cinderella tales, the main character marries a prince or king, which completely transforms her life from struggle to happiness and power.
