Colors mix differently. When you blend paints together, red and blue make purple. But when you mix colored lights, they combine in completely different ways. Artists use one set of rules, while scientists use another.

Colors tell stories. Red can mean danger or love, blue can mean calm or sadness, and yellow can mean happiness or warning. People around the world often feel similar emotions when they see the same colors, which is called color symbolism.

Contrast makes things pop. A bright yellow shape looks even brighter when placed next to a dark purple background. This happens because our eyes see the difference between colors, making each one seem stronger and more interesting.

Harmony creates balance. When colors sit next to each other in a pleasing way, like orange, yellow, and red, they create something called color harmony. Artists use these natural combinations to make paintings and designs that feel good to look at.

Art and science work together. Painters discovered color mixing rules by experimenting for hundreds of years, while scientists explained why those rules work using light and physics. Both groups learned from each other to understand colors better.
