Corythosaurus

Duck-like bill. Corythosaurus had a wide, flat bill shaped like a duck's bill, which is why scientists called it a duck-billed dinosaur. This special mouth helped it grab and chew plants.

Helmet on head. Its name means helmet in Greek because of the tall, fancy crest on top of its head that looked like a curved hat. The whole crest, including the skull, was as tall as a first grader.

Huge plant eater. This dinosaur was about 25 to 30 feet long, roughly the size of a school bus, and spent its days munching on plants in ancient North America.

Lived in herds. Scientists think Corythosaurus lived together in groups, which helped keep all the dinosaurs safe from meat-eating predators.

Ancient times. Corythosaurus lived about 77 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period, near the very end of the dinosaur age.
