Narcissus (Daffodils)

Spring showstoppers. Narcissus flowers are famous for blooming in spring and bring some of the first bright colors after winter. They're also called daffodils or jonquils, depending on where you live.

Trumpet inside. Each narcissus flower has a special trumpet-shaped part in the middle called a corona, surrounded by petals. This unique shape makes them instantly recognizable in any garden.

Grow from bulbs. These plants grow from underground bulbs that store energy over winter. Gardeners plant the bulbs in fall, and they wake up and bloom naturally when spring arrives.

From the Mediterranean. Narcissus plants originally came from the Mediterranean region of southern Europe and northern Africa. Today, they're grown and loved in gardens all around the world.

Attract pollinators. The bright colors and sweet scent of narcissus flowers bring bees and other insects to pollinate them. This helps the flowers make seeds for new plants to grow.
