Cool Facts
What makes it bullying. Bullying isn't just one mean thing, it's when someone keeps doing mean things over and over to the same person. It has to be unfair, too, like when the bully is stronger or more popular than the person being hurt.
Many different forms. Bullying can be physical (hitting or pushing), verbal (mean words or name calling), or emotional (leaving someone out or spreading rumors). It can even happen online through messages and social media, which is called cyberbullying.
Warning signs to notice. If someone is being bullied, they might seem sad, scared, or not want to go to school. If someone is bullying others, they might be mean to people weaker than them, and if you witness bullying, you might feel uncomfortable or upset about what you see.
Happens everywhere. Bullying can occur in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and even colleges. It's a problem that adults and kids need to work together to stop.
