Incredible singer. Male skylarks sing beautiful songs while hovering 50 to 100 metres high in the air. This hovering performance is how they show off to other birds and defend their territory.

Found almost everywhere. Eurasian skylarks live across Europe and Asia, and humans have brought them to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Hawaii. They love open farmland and heath where they can see far and fly high.

Streaky brown feathers. Both male and female skylarks look the same with streaky greyish-brown feathers on top and a buff-white belly. Their plain colours help them blend in with grass and soil.
