Excellent eyesight. Wolf spiders have some of the best vision in the spider world, with large eyes arranged in three rows that help them see prey from far away and track movement super well.

Fast chasers. Unlike spiders that hide in webs, wolf spiders actively hunt by running down their prey with incredible speed and agility, darting across the ground like tiny furry athletes.

Devoted mothers. Female wolf spiders carry their egg sacs attached to their spinnerets and later transport dozens of babies on their backs until the spiderlings are big enough to hunt alone.

Named like wolves. The family name Lycosidae comes from the Greek word for wolf because these spiders hunt actively and boldly, showing the same determined energy as the animals they're named after.

Found everywhere. Wolf spiders live all over the world in nearly every habitat, from gardens and forests to deserts and even the Arctic, making them one of the most successful spider families.
