The holiest journey. Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city in Islam, and it's something every Muslim who is able tries to do at least once in their lifetime.

Millions gather together. Each year, around two million people from all over the world travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj at the same time, making it one of the largest religious gatherings on Earth.

One of five pillars. Hajj is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, which are the most important practices in the Muslim faith, along with prayer, fasting, giving to charity, and declaring belief in Allah.

For those able to go. You only need to do Hajj once if you're a Muslim adult who is healthy enough and has enough money to make the journey without leaving your family without support.

A sacred destination. Muslims travel to Mecca to visit the Kaaba, a special cube-shaped building at the center of the Grand Mosque, which is the most sacred site in Islam.
