Heimdall, the Watchful God

Incredible Senses. Heimdall has the sharpest eyesight and hearing of any god, allowing him to see and hear everything happening across the nine worlds. He can even see as far as the tips of grass and hear the wool growing on sheep's backs!

Guardian of Bifröst. Heimdall lives at Himinbjörg, where the magical burning rainbow bridge Bifröst connects the sky to the earth. His job is to stand watch there and stop any invaders from crossing over.

Golden and Glowing. Heimdall is described as the whitest of all the gods with teeth made of pure gold, making him shine like no other deity. Even his possessions are magical and mysterious.

Knows the Future. Heimdall has special knowledge of what will happen, so he can sense when Ragnarök (the end of the world in Norse beliefs) is coming. His foreknowledge makes him the perfect protector.

Nine Divine Mothers. Heimdall is the son of nine sisters who are goddesses, which is very unusual even in Norse mythology. This special family connection gives him part of his mysterious nature.
