Honey Possum

Nectar specialist. Honey possums live in Australia and eat flower nectar and pollen, using their long, thin fingers to poke into flowers just like hummingbirds do.

Tarsier-like feet. The name Tarsipes means 'tarsier-foot' because their hands and feet look similar to a tarsier's, with special toe pads for gripping branches.

Incredibly tiny. These marsupials are so small they weigh less than a teaspoon of sugar, making them one of the tiniest furry creatures in Australia.

Sticky tongue tool. Honey possums have a long, sticky tongue that unfurls to collect nectar deep inside flowers, perfectly designed for their sweet diet.

Nocturnal foragers. They come out at night to hunt for flowers, moving quickly through the trees in search of their favorite blooms.
