People power. Human resources means all the workers in a company or business. Every person who shows up to work is part of the human resources, from the CEO to the newest employee.

Skills and smarts. Human capital is a fancy way of saying all the knowledge and skills that workers bring to their jobs. If you're great at math, good at talking to people, or skilled at building things, that's part of your human capital.

The HR department. Most big companies have a special HR department that finds new workers, helps with training, handles problems between employees, and makes sure everyone is treated fairly at work.

Growing the workforce. Human resources managers think about how to find the best people for a job, keep them happy, and help them grow and learn new skills so the company can be successful.

Fair and safe workplaces. The HR department also makes sure workers follow rules, that everyone is treated equally, and that the workplace is safe and healthy for everyone.
