Six jointed legs. All insects have exactly three pairs of legs attached to their middle body section. These legs bend at joints, making insects amazing climbers and runners that can squeeze into tiny spaces.

Compound eyes. Instead of two simple eyes like you have, insects have many tiny eyes clustered together. This lets them see in almost all directions at once, which helps them spot danger and find food super fast.

Three-part body. Every insect's body is split into three sections: a head, a middle part called the thorax, and a rear section called the abdomen. This design helps them move, digest food, and make new insects very efficiently.

Hard exoskeleton. Instead of bones inside, insects wear a tough armor called an exoskeleton on the outside. This protective shell supports their body and stops them from drying out, which is why insects can live in so many different places.

Antennae for sensing. Those long feelers on an insect's head aren't just decorations. They detect smells, tastes, and touch from far away, helping insects find food, mates, and their way home.
