Builds space robots. JPL creates rovers and spacecraft that explore other planets, moons, and distant parts of space. Famous rovers like Curiosity and Perseverance that explored Mars were built and controlled by JPL scientists.

California engineering hub. Located in La Cañada Flintridge near Los Angeles, JPL employs thousands of engineers, scientists, and other smart people who work together to design and operate missions to space.

Remote control experts. JPL scientists remotely control robots millions of miles away, sending commands and receiving pictures and data back to Earth. The rovers send back amazing photos and information about what they discover.

Founded by Caltech. Started in 1936 by researchers from the California Institute of Technology, JPL is now owned by NASA but still managed by Caltech, blending academic research with space exploration.

Explores entire solar system. JPL missions have visited Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and beyond. They also study Earth from space and send telescopes to learn about distant galaxies and stars.
