Super tall drop. Kaieteur Falls drops 226 meters (741 feet) straight down, which is about 4.5 times taller than Niagara Falls. That's like dropping from a 70-story building.

Enormous water power. Every second, about 663 cubic meters of water crashes down, which is roughly enough to fill 265 Olympic swimming pools every single second.

Sandstone cliff. The waterfall plunges over a cliff made of sandstone and conglomerate rock, which are tough enough to withstand the force of water crashing down day after day.

Rainforest location. Kaieteur Falls sits on the Potaro River in Kaieteur National Park in Guyana, deep in South America's Amazon rainforest where few people get to see it.

Powerful giant. Even though some waterfalls are taller and some have more water, few combine both height and volume like Kaieteur does, making it one of the mightiest waterfalls on Earth.
