Rainbow-colored bill. The keel-billed toucan's enormous bill is a brilliant mix of green, red, yellow, orange, and blue. Despite looking super heavy, the bill is actually made of hollow bones covered in thin layers of keratin, so it's surprisingly lightweight.

Belize's national bird. This toucan is so special that it was chosen as the official national bird of Belize. You'll see it on Belize's flag, coins, and in forests across the country.

Forest fruit expert. Keel-billed toucans live in tropical rainforests and love eating fruit more than anything else. They also snack on insects, seeds, lizards, and even steal eggs and baby birds from nests.

Range across continents. These striking birds make their homes in southern Mexico, Central America, and the northwestern part of South America. They're always in humid tropical forests where fruit trees grow thick.

Peaceful forest dweller. Keel-billed toucans are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals, which helps them adapt to life in the busy rainforest.
