Cool Facts
Spinning blades cut. Lawn mowers have one or more sharp, revolving blades that slice through grass and trim it to the same height all over your yard.
Different power sources. Some lawn mowers use your own muscle power to push them, while others have motors powered by batteries, electricity, or gas engines that do most of the work for you.
Height control matters. You can usually adjust how short or tall you want your grass cut by using a lever or wheel adjustment, letting you customize your lawn's look.
Ride-on versions exist. The biggest lawn mowers let you sit on them like a small vehicle and steer them around your yard, making mowing huge lawns much easier.
Robotic helpers. Some modern lawn mowers can operate completely by themselves or be controlled with a remote, automatically mowing your grass without anyone pushing them.
