Holds threads tight. A loom's main job is to stretch warp threads really tight so other threads can be woven through them smoothly. Think of it like setting up the framework for a whole piece of fabric.

Two types of threads. The warp threads run up and down and stay still while the loom works. The weft threads go side to side, weaving in and out of the warp to create the actual cloth.

Makes tapestries too. Looms don't just make plain cloth, they can create beautiful tapestries with colorful patterns and pictures woven right into the fabric.

Different shapes exist. Looms come in many different designs and sizes, from small hand looms you can hold to giant floor looms in workshops, but they all do the same basic thing.
