Magyarosaurus

Pocket-sized sauropod. Magyarosaurus was one of the smallest sauropods ever, measuring less than 3 meters long and weighing under 1,000 kilograms. That's shorter than a school bus and lighter than a car!

Lived in Transylvania. This dinosaur walked around what is now Romania, in a region called Transylvania, during the late Cretaceous Period millions of years ago.

Part of a family. Magyarosaurus belonged to a family of sauropods called Saltasauridae and was closely related to another dinosaur named Rapetosaurus, meaning they shared a common ancestor.

Weighed like a horse. At less than 1,000 kilograms, Magyarosaurus was incredibly light for a sauropod dinosaur, about as heavy as a large horse or small elephant.
