30 Teams Strong. Major League Baseball has exactly 30 teams split evenly between the National League and the American League. Twenty-nine teams play in the United States, and one team, the Toronto Blue Jays, plays in Canada.

A Long Season. Each MLB team plays 162 games every season, which is a lot of baseball. The season starts in late March or early April with Opening Day and continues through the summer and into October.

The World Series. The best teams from each league face off in October for the World Series, a championship series that started way back in 1903. The winner is crowned the best baseball team in the world.

Postseason Playoffs. Six teams from each league make it to the playoffs after the regular season ends. These teams battle through four rounds of exciting games to earn a spot in the World Series.

Run From New York. Major League Baseball has its headquarters in New York City, one of the biggest cities in the United States.
