Cool Facts
Built by Daedalus. A master inventor and craftsman named Daedalus created the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete. It was so complicated that even Daedalus barely managed to find his way out after finishing it.
Trapped the Minotaur. The Labyrinth held a terrifying creature called the Minotaur, which was part human and part bull. King Minos kept it locked inside because the monster was too dangerous to roam free.
Theseus found the way. A hero named Theseus volunteered to enter the Labyrinth and fight the Minotaur. A princess gave him a ball of thread to unwind as he walked, so he could retrace his steps and escape.
Impossible to navigate. The Labyrinth was designed with so many twisting passages and dead ends that anyone inside would get hopelessly lost. Its confusing layout made it the perfect prison for a monster no one else could contain.
