Huge and diverse land. Nigeria covers an area of about 924,000 square kilometers and has 36 states plus a capital territory. From the Sahel desert in the north to tropical coastlines in the south, Nigeria has many different landscapes and ecosystems.
Gateway between worlds. Nigeria sits between the Sahara Desert to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south, making it a bridge between the desert regions and the sea. It borders Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Benin.
Mega-city Lagos. Lagos is one of the largest cities in the whole world and the second biggest metro area in all of Africa. It's Nigeria's biggest city by population and a major center for business and culture.
Capital is Abuja. Nigeria's capital city is Abuja, a planned city located in the Federal Capital Territory in the center of the country.
