Bouncy, easy beats. Nursery rhymes use simple rhythm and rhyming words that stick in your head, making them super fun to say out loud and remember. Kids have been chanting them for hundreds of years.

Really old stories. These rhymes come from Britain and Europe, and the name 'nursery rhyme' started being used around 1800. Many rhymes are SO old that nobody knows who wrote them originally.

Mother Goose's collection. The most famous nursery rhymes are often called 'Mother Goose rhymes' because they were collected under that name. Mother Goose became the symbol for all these magical, silly verses.
